The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses have always been one of my drugstore favourites. Great texture, lots of colours, and nice shine, all at a decent price - what more could a girl want? And, they always have a couple of limited edition colours every season, just to keep you buying (it works for me, anyway). I realized I haven't actually yet featured these drugstore staples on my blog despite these being a staple in my makeup bag for sooo long, so I am now rectifying the situation!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses - check out the super old tubes!

I have two colours that are my favourites, and I bought both of them a loong time ago. Like, at least a couple of years back. The first one is a super-old-from-long-ago-limited-edition colour, Pearl Plum (my tube is almost all gone!), while the second one is a permanent colour (I think it's perm, anyway), Glossy Rose. Just look at those ancient square tubes, man!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss: Swatches of both Pearl Plum and Glossy Rose

As you can see from the swatches above, both are quite similar in terms of coverage, as both give good colour while still letting the skin underneath show through. Both also have some glitter (man, I wish they would put out more cream-finish shades). The glitter isn't OTT or glitterbomb-like, though. Pearl Plum is, as the name implies, a mid-tone plum with discrete speckles of shimmer, while Glossy Rose is a warm mid-tone rose shade with slight glitter. Both have a light, liquid-ish texture that feels moisturizing and sits well on my lips without sliding or smudging.

Anyway, here are lip swatches. Below is Pearl Plum. On a side note, these photos are really quite old - I think they're probably taken in 2011 (aka way back when in Internet time), and I was rummaging around in my photo folders and I found them. But hey, better late than never, right?

Below is Glossy Rose. Because the pigmentation is semi-sheer, and because my natural lip colour is pretty pigmented already, you can't see all that much difference in colour, but I assure you that it is there.

Anyway, I hope this was useful a quick look into the stuff that I do in fact, use and bring around with me on a day-to-day basis. While I can definitely appreciate the high-end stuff, I also do love my little drugstore gems. They're great products to toss around and travel with, without worrying about the consequences of losing or breaking them. Lost a Revlon lipgloss? Broke it in a fit of anger? It's OK, you can always pick another one up. On the other hand, if I lost, say, an LE Dior Quint, I would probably cry my eyes out.
