L'Oreal Revitalift White: Not Your Mama's Revitalift

L'Oreal has released Revitalift White, a new range of products to complement their popular Revitalift range. The difference is that while both target signs of aging, Revitalift is targeting the older audience, and is meant to combat more advanced signs of aging, while Revitalift White targets the younger set and is meant to fight the first signs of aging.

The company has gone to great lengths to draw distinctions in the two despite using the "Revitalift" brand name. They have a new, younger spokesperson (within Asia, Chinese actress Gong Li was the spokesperson for Revitalift, but Taiwanese singer Hebe is the spokesperson for Revitalift White), and slightly different packaging that still reuses the red-and-white theme of the Revitalift range.

The Revitalift White range consists of two products - an Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF 15, as well as an Anti-Aging Essence. Both products boast of the use of retinoids, vitamin B and shea butter, mirroring the formulation of the Revitalift range with its use of retinoids. The Essence is supposed to be used before the Day Cream.

The Revitalift Anti-Aging Essence comes in a very practical pump bottle, which is personally my favourite type of dispenser. No need to dig your fingers into a jar! The essence itself is a milky white lotion that absorbs quickly and easily. I actually quite like this product, it feelsl ike it would be light enough to be used under makeup everyday.

The next product in the line up is the Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF15. And this one comes in a jar like most face creams, so you'll have to dip your fingers into the container to apply it. While I feel that SPF15 is a bit lower than my preferred amount of SPF in products, I generally like the ease of application of the Day Cream.

The Day Cream is also white, but this time it's a white cream, thicker in texture than the Essence. It feels a little heavier, and takes a little longer to absorb into the skin, but it is still absorbed pretty easily and doesn't leave behind a sticky residue or feel.

We also got to decorate our own mirrors! The one of the left is mine, the one on the right is Lynn's. I know, I have no artistic proclivity whatosever. Stop laughing at my pathetic attempts at mirror decoration :P

And, if you put together everyone's mirrors, you get a huge wall of mirrors! Obviously a whole lot of girls have that artistic flair that escapes me.

Fun and games aside, the latest L'Oreal launch is something worth looking out for. The products are lightweight, and easily incorporated into an everyday skincare regime, and I imagine that following the success of Revitalift, Revitalift White would also be pretty popular. Right now, if you purchase either of the two Revitalift White products, you get to stand to win a trip to Taiwan (Singapore only, draw to be held in November), so if you're interested, that's another reason to check out the Revitalift White line!

  1. What fun! In the UK, Rachel Weisz is the new Revitalift spokesmodel, younger than Andie MacDowell.

I found that L'Oreal products in Asia and the Middle East are always more to my liking than the European versions.
