I actually like this look, and I think it's very wearable, but I swear the eyeshadow is more blended in real life!
For this look, I used three shades - Nougat, a light creamy beige, Nubuck, a matte light grey with a tinge of brown, and Mineral Earth, a deep, shimmery cool grey-brown. I simply picked Nubuck and Mineral Earth because they were such gorgeous neutral shades.
I applied Nougat on the highlight area on the browbone, Nubuck on the lid area, and Mineral Earth in the contour and outer corner. Here is the look, with my eye closed so you can see the blending and colour placement better:
I really feel that adding Mineral Earth in the outer corners and contour areas really adds a certain depth and dimension to the look. I feel like it gives it that little bit of oomph to keep the look from being a little bit dull. I guess it's because the shimmer in Mineral Earth gives it that little bit of multi-dimensional quality.
I know neutral colours and taupes aren't everyone's favourite, but I love this eye look, and I feel it's a great way of emphasizing your eyes without looking too made up. Being a neutrals girl who doesn't really wear bright colours in real life (I work in an office and meet clients very regularly), this is something I'd dare to wear to work. If work-appropriate, light eye looks aren't your thing, don't worry because I've got a few more dramatic looks coming up next!

I think this look is perfect for work or those professional occasions when you want people to notice YOU, not your makeup!

ReplyDeleteI'm not one for neutrals, but then again I don't have a job at stake, ha ;) Very nicely blended!
