Following my last sunset/bird of paradise eye look, which was quite intense, I decided that today's eye look should be cooler and well, more aquatic looking! Hence, today's blue and yellow eye look - a combination of sunshine and pools!
The shades that I used are shown below. The shade names are Martini, the light beige, Blue Lagoon, the light matte sky blue, Screwdriver, the bright matte yellow, and Green Iguana, the shimmery deep forest green.
I applied Martini on my brownbone as a highlighter, Screwdriver on the inner third of my lid, Blue Lagoon on the middle of my lid, and Green Iguana on the outer corner and crease area. Here's a shot of the eye closed, so you can have a better look at colour placement:
I like this eye look, but unlike my previous sunset/bird of paradise inspired eye look, the matte shades were a littleharder to blend than the shimmer shades - just by a bit. You can kind of see this from the lack of blending between the blue and the yellow shades on my lid - but then again, it is kind of hard to blend blue and yellow, or any complementary colours in general, because they tend to muddy up so easily.
All in all, I think I really like this look! I love how it reminds me of sunshine, summer, and pool water, and I love that the yellow and blue are matte shades that still pack a punch! I'm also really pleased with my Sleek Makeup Curacao Palette - although I'm not normally a brights kinda girl, I think the more I use it, the more I love it for its sheer versatility!

ReplyDeleteI wish I could get my hands on these Sleek palettes, but I live in the United States and can't find them ANYWHERE.
Looks awesome though! Great job!
This is so gorgeous, it looks like a tropical bird :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the vibrant colors that you used. I hope someday I'll get to try these Sleek palettes. I heard amazing reviews of how pigmented their eye shadows are. I mean they look very easily bendable and thanks for reviewing this.
ReplyDeleteI love all your bright looks! I don't think I could ever wear this much colour on my eyes!
ReplyDelete@Emily: The Sleek Makeup website does ship internationally, including to the USA! Hope this helps! :)

ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job here. You definitely achieved the "cool" goal - it's quite beachy.
ReplyDeleteCould you take pictures of your full face? Just to see how it looks overall. Love the colors of this look!
ReplyDeleteAre you still using your 4 year old Panasonic camera? I'm using the Lumix LX-3 but photos don't come out as nice as yours. I need your advice! Lighting? Or anything to tweak in the camera?
ReplyDelete@Bun Bun Makeup Tips: Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the full face look this time! Maybe next time!
ReplyDeleteAlso, yes I'm still using my Panasonic camera. I try to take my photos in natural light, and watch out for shadows etc. I think your photos are pretty great though, I'm not sure how I would suggest improvement for photos? LOL
This is breathtaking! The colours are beautiful and I envy your blending skills :)
