Etude House, the Korean beauty brand known for its cute, girly and princessy aesthetic really needs no introduction on my blog, because I do have quite a few Etude House product reviews on my blog. The brand has launched its Dear My Wish Lips Talk lipsticks, which are new additions to its already pretty extensive line of makeup. And, if you are an Etude House fan, everything you like and know from the brand can be found in these lipsticks - pretty girly packaging, budget-friendly price, and good quality!

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk Lipsticks: Bright, cheery, and girly

Etude House seems to have quite a few product ranges beginning with "Dear My", including the lipstick ranges Dear My Blooming Lips Talk, Dear My Jelly Lips Talk, lipgloss ranges, like the Dear My Enamel Gloss, and eyeshadow and cheek colours, like Dear My Blooming Cheek and Dear My Blooming Eye from previous collections. So if you're say, shopping online, or shopping from a list, and trying to differentiate between different product ranges, it helps to know the full product name to prevent confusion!

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk Lipsticks come in 10 shades with something for everyone

The Dear My Wish Lips Talk lipstick comes in 10 shades, from bright hot pinks, to corals, to nudes, to reds, and vampy shades, so no matter your colour preferences, there is a shades for you. The shades I have for review are PK001 Dreamy Propose Pink, PK003 Secret Date Pink, and BE101 Chic Hollywood Beige. And as with Etude House, the packaging is in a really cute pink plastic casing, with tiny metal "ribbon" in the middle of each lipstick.

With that, let's proceed to the swatches and review!

The lipsticks are very pigmented, and you can get full coverage with a couple of swipes. They feel creamy on the skin as well, so that's definitely a plus. Etude House's lipsticks tend to be quite good in the pigment department (except for the lipsticks that are meant to be sheer, like the Dear My Jelly Lips Talk lipsticks), so I was happy to see that the pigmentation was also excellent with the Dear My Wish Lips Talk lipsticks, too.

PK001 Dreamy Propose Pink is a bright coral pink suited to light skintones. Because of the coral lean in the pink shade, this is a more warm-toned shade, and so the undertone of this shade didn't sit quite right on me (I tend to look better in cooler lip shades). That said, this is a lovely bright coral pink.

PK003 Secret Date Pink is a tricky colour. At first I thought this was a red, because it looks like a red in the tube, but it's actually a very, very hot pink, so much that it almost looks red - kind of a mix between hot pink and red. It's a stunning colour for sure, very bright and bold, with a slight cool lean.

BE101 Chic Hollywood Beige is a pale nude beige that has a fairly neutral undertone, perhaps veering the slightest bit warm. I felt this was a bit too fair for my skintone, so it turned out a bit bandaid-like, but it is a very nice nude pink on the right skintones. Personally, I feel like the darker beige shade, BE102, might have suited me better, but those who prefer a more obvious nude, or those with a fairer skintone than me, might prefer BE101.

Now, let's move on to lip swatches!

Above is PK001 Dreamy Propose Pink. It's a pretty bright pink, a little warm. It's not exactly neon, but it will get you attention! In terms of texture, I found this to be pretty alright - it went on nice and creamy, even on my lips, which were slightly dry at the moment. That said, if you're used to a lipstick that has a thinner texture (more like a lipbalm), then this will probably feel a bit thicker. But it didn't give me any problems even on my slightly dry lips.

Above, is PK003 Secret Date Pink. This looks nearly-red on my photo, but I swear it's not! It's an almost-red hot pink, and although when I first put it on, I was like "OMG this is bright!" I soon grew to quite like this shade. This and PK001 would be perfect for summer, when all the brights and neons start coming out. But hey, if you want to wear these now, then go ahead! This had the smoothest texture out of all the lipsticks, and glided on pretty nicely without any issues.

Lastly, we have BE101 Chic Hollywood Beige. This is a pretty nude shade, although it is a bit lighter than my own personal preference for nudes. But, I liked that it gave full coverage with just a couple of swipes. I feel like with some of the lighter colours (BE101, and to a lesser extent PK001), the texture is slightly (and I do mean slightly) harder. That said, they are still pretty creamy in texture overall, I'm just splitting hairs for the sake of a review. And as you can tell from the swatches, these look pretty alright - no weird patches of lip skin or sinking into fine lines.

When I wore these, they lasted quite nicely until I started eating and drinking. And PK002 Secret Date Pink actually stained my lips a little, leaving me with a bright pink tint even after I had eaten! I had to use oil-based remover to get rid of the residue. So yes, in terms of lasting power, these are pretty good by lipstick standards.

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk Lipsticks: Great pigmentation, nice colours, creamy texture, without breaking the bank

Would I recommend the Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk? I don't see why not! These have very good pigmentation, a bunch of fun colours, a nice creamy texture, girly packaging, and the price is also affordable. If you have dry lips or peeling lips, then avoid some of the colours that have a slightly drier texture, but otherwise, I do think these are a great buy. I'm personally eyeing some of the other shades myself, and maaay just pick up a couple eventually! (If you're curious, I'm looking at BE102, OR202, and PK002.)

  2. I love their lippies, but one thing I hate is trying to figure out the code/name. It's printed pretty small at the bottom, and if not mistaken, different range may carry same color code! very confusing

  4. Oh gosh! I love Secret Date Pink! The bright hot pink aspect makes me worried, but I've been wanting a red that leans more pink. Thanks for the review!
