Fall is the perfect time for deep berry lips, and I think I've found my perfect one - the Etude House Color Lips Fit in PP501 Brave Fit Berry! This is a new addition to the Etude House Color Lips Fit range of liptints, which I've reviewed previously. At Etude House's flagship store at Wisma Atria, I noticed this pretty shade and just had to have it, and so I bought it!

Etude House Color Lips Fit PP501 Brave Fit Berry: Couldn't resist the gorgeous berry colour!

Apparently PP501 Brave Fit Berry is a new addition to the Color Lips Fit line of lip tints - this shade was not available when the Color Lips Fit liptints first came to Singapore. When it was first launched in Singapore, the shades were mostly bright reds, bright pinks, or nude beiges. They didn't have any plum or magenta shades, so I was excited to see such a gorgeous shade. And on top of that, it had this little sign next to it that said "NEW", so I decided I would get it!

And since I've gotten it, I've been wearing it pretty often, since it's so perfect for Fall season. So I figured I should get around to reviewing it for you guys!

PP501 Brave Fit Berry looks like a scary purple in the tube, but it's actually more of a deep berry on, not scary at all unless you shy away from dark shades altogether. Like the rest of the Color Lips Fit liptints, PP501 Brave Fit Berry is also packaged with a doefoot applicator. I realized I didn't include a photo of the applicator in my original review, so here it is!

For some reason, the texture on PP501 Brave Fit Berry seemed a little smoother than the texture on the previous two Color Lips Fit that I reviewed. I'm not sure if the formula was tweaked slightly, or whether this particular colour just had a smoother texture, but it was easier to swatch, and not as patchy. In fact, I found that I could sheer it out, or layer it on, depending on my preferences. You can see this in the swatches below.

I also did a lip swatch so you guys can see the difference in texture. Maybe my lips were smoother this time round or something (it's possible, because I do get dry lips sometimes), but I remembered the texture of the Color Lips Fit tints being much drier than this (you can look at my previous lip swatch photos for comparison). I felt like this time, the texture here was more velvety-matte than powdery-matte, which was good. I also think that the better texture (whether it's just my lips being less dry, or just this colour, or a slight tweak in formula) is also more amenable to layering and isn't as powdery.

And just so I can convince you that this shade is more deep berry than scary purple, here's a photo of me with it on. For the rest of this look, I'm wearing the same products as I did from my Etude House Disney Princess FOTD: the Snow White Precious Mineral BB Cream in shade No. 2, the Belle Rose Cheek Blusher in #1 Pink Rose Shine, the Cinderella Fairy Glitter Shadow in #3 Evening Party. On my lips are the Color Lips Fit in PP501 Brave Fit Berry without any clear gloss topcoat, so you can see the matte effect in action.

I've been wearing this, and I've found that once it sets, it's quite long-lasting, and in this respect, my verdict doesn't change that much from my previous review. It basically stays on even when I eat and drink simple non-oily food (say, a cup of water, or a couple of crackers). Once I start eating anything more (soup, anything with oil), it comes off just like any other lip product. To me, that's pretty good lasting power, so I don't mind reapplying after meals. You do have to be careful with application though, because it's harder to do clean-up for a matte tint than for a more glossy one. I usually go slow and steady with the applicator, and I find that's sufficient.

So, would I recommend this? Obviously, I've been wearing this pretty often, so I'd definitely say yes! But, I recognize that matte liptints may not be for everyone, and I do think that if you have dry lips, then this might not be the best product; a more traditional glossy tint or a tint with a creamier texture might work better. And to be sure it's not the most moisturizing lip product out there. But if dry lips or a matte, slightly powdery finish aren't a concern, then you'll probably love the gorgeous berry colour and the nice pigmentation.

The Bottom Line: With a high pigment level and a pretty berry colour, this would be a great liptint for anyone who likes a matte finish and for whom dry lips is not a concern.

    1. @Jyah Love: Here in Singapore, I think it was around $15 or so? Maybe like $15.90 or something similar :)
