Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen Review and Swatches

Star Lash, a brand owned by local company BeautyDirect, has launched their first pen eyeliner! You may know Star Lash for their range of false lashes (if you visit their website, you'll see that they do have a lot, like over 50 designs!), so this is one of their comparatively fewer non-lash products. As such, I was pretty excited to try this out and see how it was! The shade that I got was Rich Black Waterproof.

Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen: A new accompaniment to your Star Lash false lashes!

This eyeliner came with a lot of expectations, so I had to immediately put it to the test to see how it performs! You know how a good pen eyeliner is supposed to be - draw nice lines, be well-pigmented, be fairly budgeproof, and be fairly waterproof. I decided to take it through a series of tests!

The first thing to note is the pen tip - it's quite fine and pretty solid, as far as pen eyeliner tips go. I don't have too many complaints about this.

And below, you can see the type of lines that the Perfect Touch Eyeliner creates. Sorry if the lines look ugly, I was just trying to draw a variety of lines with varying thickness. As you can see, you can get quite nice, clean, fine lines with this eyeliner. Also, with the Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen, you get good pigmentation on this. As you can see, all the lines are inky and black, and these are just one swipe.

Next, I subjected the lines I drew to three types of tests - rubbing, running under water, AND running under water while rubbing. So I first rubbed the lines really hard. After rubbing, this is what I got. As you can see, there isn't any huge blurring or shifting of the lines. There is a bit of fading and a bit of smudging, but given how hard I was rubbing these, I don't think it's an issue.

The Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen is indeed smudgeproof.

When I just ran my hand with these eyeliner lines under the tap, there wasn't any issue either. The eyeliner stayed on perfectly through dunking in water. So yes, you could probably get splashed with water (or get wet in the rain) and your eyeliner would stay on. But then, I decided to try my rubbing-while-underwater test, just to see what would happen. And, as you can see from the photo below, the lines started to disappear. Having reviewed other types of pen eyeliners before, I'd say this is reasonable for an eyeliner. It's not the most difficult to remove that I've seen, but certainly it's not the worst, either! I'd say this fares quite decently among its competitors.

The Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen is waterproof, but don't rub while underwater.

So, would I recommend this? I guess I would, and I think it has pretty good all-around performance. It doesn't strike me as a huge wow, but neither does it leave me disappointed. I'd say given the price of S$18.90 this is a fairly reasonable product, that does what it says it will do.

The Bottom Line: The Star Lash Perfect Touch Eyeliner Pen is a good all-around eyeliner pen product that is also pretty value-for-money.
