Etude House's Disney Princess Collection, Princess Happy Ending, recently launched in stores. If you've been following me on Instagram, you'll know how much I love this collection - I feel like the Disney Princess theme really fits in very well with Etude House's girly, innocent, princess-like aesthetic. So this is definitely bound to be a match made in heaven! I mean, just look at all that gorgeous boxes and packaging!

Etude House Disney Princess Happy Ending Collection: That's a big collection this time round!

There are a lot of products in this range - three glitter eyeshadows, two blushes, two lipsticks, one mascara, four nail sets, and two BB creams. The colours in the collection are inspired by some of the Disney Princesses - there are colours after Jasmine, Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White. What you see above in the photo is the entire collection - which I will review in stages, but I thought, since I've been getting requests for swatches and reviews, I thought I'd do some swatches of the makeup items in one post first, so that the post will be just in time as you guys contemplate what to buy from the collection.

As usual, packaging is Etude House's strong point. I can't quite think of a brand that has packaging quite as girly and as cute as this, without venturing into girly-overdose territory. For the Etude House X Disney Princess Collection, the packaging has been made to look like story books - the nail sets. Everything except the eyeshadows and lipsticks have these super cute boxes. Just take a look below!

But I know that this is supposed to be a swatch post, not an ogling-over-the-packaging post (again, if you've been following me on Instagram, you'd have seen that already), so without further ado, here are some swatches of the makeup items in the Etude Disney Princess Collection!

First, I thought I'd start off with the base products, the BB creams. These are the Snow White Precious Mineral BB Creams, and I thought naming them after Snow White was pretty apt - after all, Snow White was the "fairest of them all" with the "skin as white as snow", right? Ahh, if only a BB cream (or any other base product for that matter) could come close to that! Anyway, the Snow White Precious Mineral BB Creams come in two shades - Light Beige No. 2, which is the lighter shade, and Natural Beige W13, which is the darker shade. (The shade names make me think that there might be more shades that aren't carried here, but I'm not sure). The good thing about these is that they are packaged with pump tops, which is more useful than the usual squeeze-tubes you find BB creams packaged in, as it is more hygenic.

Below, you can see them swatched, blended out (like you might apply on skin) and unblended (straight from the tube). Light Beige No. 2 is definitely the closer match to my NC20 skin. Texture-wise, these are quite similar to Etude House's other BB Creams, and don't deviate too much from the general texture of BB creams. So if you've had good luck with Etude House's BB creams, chances are, you'll like this. I found the texture to be a little thick at first, but blended in well once you actually rub it into the skin. The finish was glowy, but devoid of obvious bits of discrete shimmer, so you don't have to worry about looking like a discoball with this one!

After that, let's move on to the next face product - the two blushes! They are inspired by Belle, and are aptly named the Belle Rose Cheek Blusher - after all, the rose was quite prominently featured in the Disney version of the traditional fairytale. These blushes are seriously gorgeously pretty. I love everything about them - the cute little book-like boxes, the lovely pink casings, the beautiful rose imprint on the blush surface. I mean, this is a total collector's item, if you are so inclined. I just like looking at these - they are just so pretty!

They're so pretty I just have to take another photo of them. Just look at that gorgeous rose imprint! The Belle Rose Cheek Blusher comes in two shades, #1 Pink Rose Shine (which is a light shimmery pink), and #2 Coral Rose Shine (which is more like a peachy-pink shade with gold shimmer).

I so hated having to swatch this (because it would ruin the pretty pretty rose imprint on the top), but I did it because I'm dedicated, haha. Like most Etude House blushes (and Korean-brand blushes in general), the pigmentation is on the sheerer side - you can definitely dip and swirl your blush brush in these generously and not end up with clown cheeks. Finish-wise, both blushes have shimmer, but the shimmer appears more obvious in #2 Coral Rose Shine. #2 Coral Rose Shine looks like a NARS Orgasm-type shade, with its peachy-pink base and gold shimmer, while #1 Pink Rose Shine is a light, sheer pastel pink with shimmer. These are basic everyday staple shades, in the prettiest packaging imaginable.

Next, we move on to the eyeshadows, called the Fairy Glitter Shadow. These are inspired by Cinderella, which comes with appropriate shade names - Pink Glass Heels, Magic Pumpkin, and Evening Party. They come in little pots, and vaguely remind me of the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, in that they have a high amount of shimmer and glitter, and come in little pots. Of course, these are way more girly in packaging and shade range.

Up close, you can see a shot of the three shades. #1 Pink Glass Heels is a shimmery light pink (not pastel, but not a bright or dark pink either), #2 Magic Pumpkin is a light orange-bronze shade, and #3 Evening Party is a neutral deep brown - very wearable and easily my favourite out of all the eyeshadows. This could be a crease shade on fairer girls, or a lid shade on darker girls. The shimmer gives the shades an added dimension, as well, which I thought added to the shade's prettiness.

And below, swatches! The Fairy Glitter Shadow shades are actually very close to how they appear in the pots when swatched. I don't know why my camera didn't capture the differences between #2 Magic Pumpkin and #3 Evening Party - they look quite alike in the swatch photo below, but in real life, they look closer to the colours in the pots, and the difference between them is a lot greater. Just take it that my camera couldn't handle all that pretty, haha. Pigmentation-wise, these were buildable, but good - what you see was probably 3-4 swipes, and a heavier application will give you greater colour saturation. The good thing about these is that although the shadows are shimmery, there isn't too much fallout. I think you could even swipe gently (rather than press) with these and have less fallout than you otherwise might have with other shadows.

Lastly, we move on to the lipsticks, which are possibly my favourite part of the collection - no surprise, as I'm quite a lip products junkie. One of the lipsticks is inspired by Belle, and is called Purple Rose Lips, while the other lipstick was inspired by Sow White, and is called Apple Red Lips. As you might guess, the Belle Lipstick, Purple Rose Lips, is purple, while the Snow White lipstick, Apple Red Lips, is red.

Below, you can see arm swatches of both colours. Purple Rose Lips is a gorgeous wearable purple. It's noticably purple (so yes, it is, indeed, purple rather than a purply-pink or a plum shade), but it's a very wearable purple, because there is quite a bit of red in the shade. So if you're venturing into trying the purple lips trend, this is a good one to check out. Apple Red Lips, meanwhile, is a straight up fire engine red with a slight warmth to it. Definitely a classic Snow White shade for lips!

I've also done lip swatches of both colours, just to give you guys a better idea of pigmentation and texture. Below is the Snow White shade, Apple Red Lips. As you can see, pigmentation and coverage is great - you can definitely get full opacity out of this. Texture-wise, this is also good. I know lipsticks can sometimes be on the dry side, but I felt these were pretty okay. They're not the most moisturizing lipsticks I've tried, but they're not dry, either.

And below, the Belle Purple Rose Lips lipstick. Look at how gorgeous the colour is! Now, I'm not normally one for non-traditional or wacky lip shades - I've never tried a shade like MAC Heroine, for example - but I felt like while this was slightly different from the colours I normally wear, I could imagine myself going out with this. It's a pretty wearable shade of purple. It looks a little less plum and more purple in real life than in my photo (so slightly closer to the shade in the tube), but you get an idea of how wearable it is.

So, those are my swatches of the makeup items from the Etude House Disney Princess Collection! I think Etude House has done a good job this time round with the collection - the products are gorgeously packaged, the colours make sense and are cohesive as an entire collection, and the quality is pretty good, and in some cases actually quite impressive considering the price! If you see any colours you fancy, or if you are a Disney fan, or just a fan of girly, pretty things, I think this collection is worth checking out. I'll try to do a FOTD (face of the day) with some of these products, and get around to reviewing the nail sets soon, so keep a watch out!

(Product was sent for review. Review is my complete and honest opinion. I am not affiliated with/compensated by the company.)

  1. I am so envious! This collection sold out so quickly in Korea, I wasn't able to get my hands on the one thing I really wanted - the Belle lipstick *sad sigh*

Gotta say that Belle lipstick looks great on many different skin-tones, it's rather remarkable! Can't wait to see your FOTD with this shade ^^

    1. @Cintami Andoko: There is shimmer, but it's not very obvious, so it was hard to capture in the swatches. It is there, but it is very slight! :)

  5. These look great! I wish they become available in the Philippines soon! May I know which products are Jasmine-inspired? :)

    1. @krissy: The Jasmine-inspired products are the mascara, as well as a nail art set with 2 nail polishes and some stickers. There isn't any Jasmine colour makeup item, which is why you don't see any Jasmine products in the swatches. Hope that answers your question!
