Sleek Makeup's Berry Collection has come out just in time for Christmas - and just in time for the season's berry trends, too! As the name of the collection suggests, the set contains products all in rich, berry colours. The entire Berry Collection is boxed up nicely, in a Christmassy red box.

The Berry Collection consists of a powder blush, as well as a lipstick, and a thick kohl eyeliner pencil. Here are the products in the box.

The powder blush is one of Sleek Makeup's most popular items, so I'm not surprised that the Berry Collection included a new blush shade, Fenberry. And this one is a really gorgeous blush! It looks scary and red and deep in the pan, but depending on how it's applied, can either be a light rosy flush, or a more intense berry shade.

The other two items in the collection are a Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Cranberry, as well as a Kohl Pencil in Mossberry. At first glance, I thought these were the same colours, just in lipstick form (for the lips), and pencil form (for the eyes). But they're two different shades. Mossberry is more purple, while Cranberry is a bit more berry in shade.

All of the three shades are matte, so if you want to glitz up the products, the glitter will have to be added separately. Here are swatches of all three products. I have to say, I like how there are three different shades of berry, thus making each product differentiable, instead of just repackaging the same shade three times. All shades also have excellent pigmentation.

I know you're interested in seeing the products actually being worn, so here you go! The first product I tried was the Cranberry Lipstick. I really like this shade - it's a cool-toned berry red that's intense, but still quite wearable.

The next product I tried was the Kohl Pencil in Mossberry. Now, to be honest, I can't say I like how this looks on me. Mossberry is supposed to be more of a burgundy eye pencil, but when I used it to rim my eyes, I felt like it made my eyes look hungover and bloodshot. So I tried using it as an eyeshadow pencil. And here are the results:

Not too bad, I suppose, if you don't mind the colour, and would wear someting like that on your eyes. Personally, I'm not keen on red eyeliner or anything that makes my eyes look tired or bruise-y. I think this would wear better as a lip pencil, and I'm going to have to try that out someday.

The last product, Fenberry Blush, is my favourite among the three. It's versatile, universally-flattering, and has great pigmentation and texture. What's not to like? Fenberry actually reminds me of other intense, dusty-rose blushes - the first one that comes to mind is NARS Dolce Vita. It may not be eactly the same shade, but they're in the same family. The FOTD (Face of the Day) below shows me wearing both Fenbberry Blusher as well as Cranberry Lipstick. I think it's a great look - very classic and almost pin-up!

Altogether, this is a really nice set, with quality items at a great value, and I could see myself using every one of these products. Even if you wouldn't use the Mossberry Kohl Pencil, it can still do double duty as a lip pencil (which is what I'd probably do. Also, the other two products, Cranberry Lipstick and Fenberry Blush, are definitely worth getting the set for. In particular, Fenberry Blush is the must-have standout for me, since it is so versatile and could go with almost any skintone. I think Sleek Makeup has done a great job of putting together a great range of berry shades that work on a variety of skintones.

  3. @Jacqueline: Generally, Sleek has very good blushes. I've found them to be well-pigmented, with a decent texture - not super soft, bur not hard either. I think they're very value for money, given that one blush can last quite awhile, and they're my favourite item from Sleek's lineup, in addition to the palettes. Hope this helps!
