Laqa & Co Fat Lip Pencil in Wolfman Review and Swatch

Laqa and Co is a very specialist beauty brand - its only products right now are the lip pencil, as well as nail polish pens! It's definitely one of the most niche brands I've seen, and fortunately they do pretty nice products. I've written briefly about both the Laqa & Co Fat Lip Pencils and Nail Polish Pens before, and they were pretty good when I tried them out in store. So, now I'm FINALLY getting around to actually reviewing the Fat Lip Pencil I have in my stash - Wolfman.

First off, I have to say - Laqa and Co really does the prettiest packaging ever. Just look at the lovely floral packaging on that box! The Fat Lip Pencil is a chubby, thick and short pencil that feels nice and substantial in your hand. It's also really pretty!

Wolfman is a light pastel pink without any shimmer, but a sheer finish, and I think it would be a good nude shade for anyone with a light skintone. It's a neutral pastel pink, which is a very pretty, girly shade. It is on the sheer side, as you can see from the swatches below. I tried to build up one of the swatches, but as you can see, there is a limit to how much you can layer it.

Below is the swatch of it on my lips. It looks a little chalky, but it's actually not drying on the lips or anything. It's more that my lips are very pigmented, and the pencil is unpigmented, and so when you combine the two together...it looks a little strange. But trust me, this is a super close up macro that makes my lips the size of the computer screen. It isn't actually that bad in real life.

Although this shade wasn't exactly a shade that I would see myself getting much use of (I suspect I might have preferred Bossy Boots or another shade, based on my swatches previously, that was a little bit more deep and more rosy), but I did like the product for its quality, packaging, and texture. It is hard to find lip pencils that are non-drying (Bobbi Brown, I'm looking at you - no, GLARING at you for drying my lips out), so if you're keen on Laqa and Co's range of colours, do check them out! You can buy Laqa and Co from Argly Duckling.
