Too Faced Melted Chocolate Swatches: Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette & Melted Lipstick

Too Faced's Melted Chocolate collection, consisting of the Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette and 6 shades of Melted Lipstick, is coming to Singapore in March. In the run up to that, I've got swatches of both the eyeshadow palette as well as the Melted Lipstick, and I'm so excited!

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Makeup Collection

The "Melted Chocolate" theme is pretty obvious with the products - the Melted Lipsticks are all varying shades of brown, in a very Kylie Jenner lips-esque sort of way, and the palette smells of chocolate, which is to say, it smells very yummy. In general, the quality of the collection also holds up very well for Too Faced - it's pretty similar quality-wise to their existing Melted Lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes, which is to say, it's pretty good.

Let's start with the Chocolate Bon Bons Palette first. This is generally a palette of neutrals with a bit of colour - there is a hot pink shade, but otherwise the colours are pretty wearable all around - this is good for dates, work, parties, and so on. There's also a nice mix of matte and shimmer shades, and the shimmer generally is not too OTT or prone to fallout. These swatches were all done on bare skin with no primer, so as to give you an idea of the pigmentation of the palette.

Almond Truffle is a nude brown shade that is really pretty.
Satin Sheets is a shimmery beige, great as a highlight or a base. I do believe this has made its way into several Too Faced palettes, so it might look a bit familiar!
Sprinkles is a light candy pink with shimmer.
Molasses Chip is a warm brown shimmer with a metalic finish.

Cashew Chew is a mid-tone nude pink with very subtle shimmer.
Cotton Candy is a pink shimmer shade, slightly brighter than Sprinkles, and less pastel.
Cafe Au Lait is one of my personal favourite shades, because it's a nice shimmery light taupe! It has a metallic finish.
Bourdeaux is a deep chocolate brown with a hint of rust.
Mocha is a light medium brown with a bit of taupe-ness to it.
Black Currant is, as the name suggests, a deep purple with shimmer and sparkle.

Dark Truffle is a deep, cooltoned brown with a subtle shimmer.
Pecan Praline is a cooltoned taupe with a matte finish.
Totally Fetch is a hot pink shade with minimal shimmer. On a side note, I love the Mean Girls reference! That movie is my jam! It's like, so fetch! (See what I did there?)
Earl Grey looks blue in the pan, but on me it is actually a deep blue grey with shimmer.
Divinity is an eggshell matte that blends into my skin, making it a nice base shade for me.

Next, we have the Melted Lipsticks! These, as you can tell from the swatches, are all quite brown, and definitely great for girls with more tanned or deeper skintones. On me the browns look a little blah just because I don't quite have the skintone for it, but I think girls who like the Kylie-Jenner-lips trend that's been going round lately will love these. If you can, I definitely recommend trying these out in person before buying, because you know how it is with brown shades - it's so easy for one person's gorgeous nude brown lip to be someone else's, uh, bathroom-inspired shade. But if in doubt, I'd go for the rosier shades, because those have less room for error.

Chocolate Milkshake is a nice, medium warm nude, and more pink in person than it looks in my photos.
Chocolate Honey is my favourite shade, and a rosy brown, with the emphasis on brown. This, and Chocolate Milkshake, will be a bit more wearable for fairer ladies. Also a little more pink in person.
Metallic Chocolate Diamonds is a metallic light brown with just a hint of rose. It does look like chocolate!
Metallic Candy Bar is another chocolate-like brown shade, but with a metallic finish.
Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate is yet another chocolatey shade, but this one has a bit more rosiness to it than the previous two shades. It also has a metallic finish.
Chocolate Cherries is also one of my favourites from the collection, in addition to Chocolate Honey and Chocolate Milkshake. It's a gorgeous deep vampy plum burgundy shade, and very rich.

Regardless of whether you like the brown shades, the quality of these is quite good - as you can see from the swatches they are very nicely pigmented. Some of the Metallic finish shades are a bit sheerer than the non-metallic ones, but that's nothing a second layer won't be able to solve. And like the eyeshadow palette, these also smell very gorgeously of chocolate!

On the whole I'd say the collection is worth checking out if you like any of the shades, because the quality is good. My favourite item is the Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette, as well as the chocolate Honey Melted Lipstick shade.
