Benefit Cosmetics already has existing products called Bathina. There's a Bathina Body Oil Mist, and a Bathina Body Balm, so it looks like this is a new addition to the Bathina body line. Unlike the others though, there isn't any heaviness or oiliness in this Bathina Body Mist - if anything, it seems a bit more like a light, moisturizing fragrance than anything else!
Isn't the bottle pretty, and the box just so adorable? One of the things I really love Benefit's bath and body products (and actually their entire line) is the cute, girly, flirty and quirky packaging. And, the products are usually pretty solid as well - in the course of my 5 years of beauty blogging, I've encountered their lipglosses, eyeshadows, blushes, primers, and foundations, and they've all been really good. So I had high hopes for Bathina Body Mist too!
Benefit Bathina All-Over Body Mist: The packaging is the pin-up girls beloved by the brand.
I know you're wondering about the fragrance in the product, so I'll just cut to the chase and start the review!
Benefit claims that the scent has notes of bright golden peach, sun-kissed Sicilian lemon, a tumble of white blossoms, and a lingering hint of velvet plum. That's actually fairly accurate, in terms of scent descriptions - when I spritzed this, overall, the scent I got was that of florals, and a tang of light citrus. Some citrus scents can be pretty sharp initially, but this is a very soft, rounded scent - there's no sharp or acrid notes, not even in the first whiff. The citrus notes of lemon are there, but they are light and airy, and the florals are sweet, but not too overpowering. I've read some reviews that this is similar to Benefit's discontinued Maybe Baby perfume, but I can't verify this because I've never tried Maybe Baby. But if you've tried and liked it before, then this is probably worth checking out!
Benefit Bathina All-Over Body Mist: Floral and fruity, citrusy scents make up the bulk of the fragrance.
Benefit bills this product as a body mist, and I think that's probably the best way to describe it. As a full-on perfume type product, the fragrance isn't substantial enough - it doesn't have as many notes as a typical fragrance does, and to my nose, doesn't seem to have much of a base note, because most of the notes in the product are either top notes of fruits and citrus, or middle notes of floral. But as a body mist, perhaps as some sort of scent refresher, this is perfect. It's a light, attractive and feminine scent that's sweet and fresh. It's great as a spritz, even if it's not a perfume-y product. I think this would be particularly nice as a hair refresher, because it's so fresh and clean-smelling.
Benefit Bathina All-Over Body Mist: A light, clean, and feminine scent.
Perhaps the only bad thing I have to say about this product is that the scent is so light and fresh that it doesn't last for very long. But then again, I'm saying this only because I'm comparing this to an actual perfume (which can last for a few good hours on me if the base notes in the perfume adhere to my skin). It lasts for maybe one or two hours before disappearing, which I guess is normal for a body mist.
Benefit Bathina All-Over Body Mist: The light, fresh scent doesn't last long, but it is a great quick pick-me-up for body and hair.
Interestingly, Benefit also claims that this is hydrating to the skin and is alcohol-free. This is a claim that's borne out by the ingredients list. The main ingredients in the Bathina Body Mist are water, fragrance, and then there's Butylene Glycol and Glycerin, which are both humectants. Hydrogenated Lecithin, which can be both an emulsifier as well as an emollient, and Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate can also function as a skin-conditioning agent too. So there you go - from the main ingredients, the product is indeed alcohol-free, and contains some ingredients that could hydrate the skin.
Benefit Bathina All-Over Body Mist: Alcohol-free, and has ingredients that can moisturize the skin.
So, would I recommend this product? I think it's a good body mist or hair refresher. While the scent doesn't last as long as that of a traditional perfume, it's a light, breezy, fresh, and feminine scent with some sweetness, that I expect would be quite universally popular. Indeed, while reviewing this perfume, both my sister and my mother said that they liked the scent, too! And because the sillage of this scent isn't too strong, it's light enough to wear to enclosed spaces, like an office or other indoors environments. So if you're looking for a light, clean and feminine spritz for your body or hair for a quick pick-me-up, this might be worth checking out.

The Bottom Line: This citrusy floral scent is easy to wear and smells light and clean. While it doesn't last long, it's great as a quick scent refresher for body and hair. |

The scent sounds lovely, but I wish it lasted longer. I don't like having to reapply often.
