Yes, these all came in one package!
Yesterday, we took a look at the skincare products - there was cleanser, face/body gel, skin analyzers, and masks of various sorts. Today, we're going to be looking at the lip products! One is a makeup product I'm pretty excited about, while another one is a multi-step lip mask pack.
Let's jump right in!
Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in Sexy Red
The first product is the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in the shade Sexy Red. It's basically a peel-off lip tint, in which you apply the product, let it dry up or at least sit for a good 5-10 minutes, and then peel it off, leaving behind a stain on your lips. Although these don't seem to have caught on in the West, they were really big in Asia for awhile. Perhaps it's the fact that the lip tint really stays on, combined with the novelty of "peeling off" the tint from your skin, that made it so popular here.
Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in Sexy Red: When squeezed out of the tube
In my previous post looking at another brand of peel-off lip stain, I mentioned that these products all work the same way - they're basically water, polymers, alcohol, and dye, and how they work is that the alcohol penetrates into your skin, along with the dye, while the polymers form a film on top of your skin that dries. When you peel off the film, you're peeling off all the polymers, and in the meantime the alcohol and dye has stained your lips with the desired colour. It looks liek the Berrisom Lip Tint Pack works the exact way, with the main ingredients also being water, polymers (Polyvinyl Alcohol), and alcohol.
It can be a bit drying for people who have dry or sensitive lips, but if you don't have such concerns, it's actually pretty nifty!
Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack: When applied initially
First, you apply the product to your lips. The trick is to apply a layer that's a bit thicker than you might normally apply lipgloss, but don't get it too thick, because then it will take longer to dry. You also need to be careful to ensure that when applying the product, you don't get it everywhere, because wherever the product lands, it will stain. So a steady hand and some care is needed to apply the product.
Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack: After it's dried, and peeling it off
After that, you wait for the product to dry down. This will take around 5-10 minutes, depending on how thick of a layer you've applied (which is why you don't want to overapply). Then, once the lip tint has dried down, you start peeling it off, to reveal the tint. As you can see, the product comes out of the tube in a super dark colour, which might look a bit vampy, but don't worry - it doesn't stain your lips to the same degree of intensity. In this case, the product comes out a very vampy deep burgundy, but I get a nice rosy tint.
Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack: The stain left behind after peeling off the surface
Like I said, the only downside to this is that it's quite drying, because of the high alcohol content. But it's a tradeoff - the high alcohol content is what precisely allows the dye to stain your lips so well, and what makes the stain last so much longer. And it does last for very long - I can pretty go about a whole day with this on, although it does fade if I eat oily foods.
Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lip 3 Step Kit
The second lip product I got was this Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lip 3 Step Kit. I'm not sure what the "Golden Monkey" reference here is, but I guess it's just cute. This is a 3-step lip pack. Step 1 exfoliates your lips, Step 2 is a lip mask that you apply to your lips, and Step 3 is a lip serum that you apply as the last step.
Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour 3 Step Lip: Step 1, an exfoliant
Here's Step 1. It's basically a cloth-like material, with scrubbing beads and some exfoliating product on it (although you can't really tell from the photos). I've no idea what's in the exfoliating product, but I found that it really exfoliates, and if I leave it on my lips for too long, it starts to burn! So yes, some very powerful exfoliants (to my lips anyway) are in here, so this is just a "wipe your lips with it until your lips look smoother and then wash it off" step. Don't make the mistake of thinking this is a leave-on step!
Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour 3 Step Lip: Step 2, a hydrogel lip mask
The second step is my favourite. It's a lip mask, and I love that it is a hydrogel mask! If you know me, you'll know I love hydrogels, so this was definitely my favourite step, haha. Like most hydrogel masks, it also sticks to your skin very well, and doesn't peel off or droop. I also liked that it really did help my lips feel a lot smoother and slightly more full. If you're looking for a last minute lip plumping product, this is a good one!
Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour 3 Step Lip: Step 2, lip mask applied
Above, my lips using the Step 2 Lip Mask, just to show you how well it adheres to my lip skin. It's also pretty huge, and covers not just my lips but the skin around the area as well!
The last step is a Lip Serum. I'm actually quite a big fan of this lip serum, because it smells sweet and just like honey! On the downside, it's also pretty sticky (like honey), and although it doesn't feel overly sticky when sitting on your lips, if you get it onto other skin, it does feel super sticky. This is a pretty thick, emollient serum that should really help dry lips.
Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour 3 Step Lip: Step 3, a lip serum
So, am I pleased with my haul? On the whole I think this haul was a good one, and I really liked the Berrisom Lip Tint Pack and the Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Step 3. Looking back at the products from both Part 1 of the haul, and today's Part 2, I think my top three favourite products are probably the Berrisom Lip Tint Pack, the Holika Holika Pig Collagen Mask, and the Golden Monkey Lip Pack, just because I like the lip tint, and I love my hydrogel masks. My least favourite product would probably be the Holika Holika Konjac Jelly Cleanser, just because it was too harsh for my skin.
Great review!Holika one looks so cute!
